Emory's Castle Chess camp is for all students of the game with at least some experience in tournament play. (Please see FAQ.)
Chess players of all ages attend Castle Chess camps. Campers have ranged in age from 5 to 78! (Warning- campers under age 10 may not stay in the dorm unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.)
There is a minimum rating requirement of 1000 peak USCF (regular, not quick) for the 2010 camp, although past campers are exempt. Players rated over 700 with at least 10 rated games may be placed on a waiting list by emailing board@castlechess.org. Campers will be admitted off the wait list as space permits in the order of rating strength.
In 2009, the AVERAGE camp rating was 1424. The top group averaged 2016.
